My youngest son is turning 4 tomorrow and for the first time, we are not having a birthday party for him this year.  First of all, we just moved the beginning of this month and we are still settling in.

Second, I remember last year’s birthday celebration.  I had invited a bunch of moms and their kids.  Some didn’t respond to my invite and others said they would be coming but then didn’t come and didn’t bother to call or email me to let me know that they wouldn’t be coming.

It was pretty sad to just have one mom show up with her kids.  So this year, it will just be my husband, me, Jack, and Kyle.  We plan to go to Chuck E. Cheese on Saturday and have pizza and let the boys have fun.  Later, we will do cake and ice-cream at home.  Now, I won’t have to worry about anyone not showing up.

It takes time to plan a birthday party.   You have to know what size cake to buy, refreshments, what other food to serve, gift bags, etc.   We all have pet peeves...this is one of mine...when people can’t be bothered to respond to an invite or worse, when they say they‘re coming and then don’t show up.

Thanks for reading my blog!
