Part of my get my act together while I am not working is to eat more sensibly. I am loosely following the SB diet. Part of my to do list today was to plot out dinners for the week. Well I have done that with no problem. I can visit their website and for a fee be a member. I am trying it to see if it actually will help. But what I like about the site is that you can create your meal plans dfor the day or week. It includes all the recipes and best of all will create your shopping list based on planned meals. It’s great so far.
In addition to the SBD I am following preventions walk your middle away plan. So far so good other than the garage is boring to walk in when it’s raining. And my cats think I’m crazy!
Is anyone else on the SBD or have you been on it in the past? What obstacles have you ran into? Is there anything better if you‘re not a seafood eater?

    • Hi Vikki,

I haven’t tried the South Beach Diet, but I was amused by your cats’ reaction to your treadmill in the garage!

Every time I get down on the floor to work out, my cat thinks it’s play time, and starts running around excited, crawling under my exercise mat, and leaping on me during sit-ups. It’s pretty funny.

Good luck with your SBD. I know some people who were on it, and they did very well.

      Namaste,
      Suzann

    • Hey Vikki,

I’ve read the SBD and been on the Schwarzbein Program which is very similar. For me, eating lots of protein and upping the veggies, adding a couple pieces of fruit a day and cutting way way down on grains is the only thing that works. I just restarted doing this and the first thing to go was the belly bloat. Also, I take digestive enzymes which I swear by.

      Good luck with SB.

    • Papaya is one kind. I use a wide spectrum enzyme from Swanson that helps digest starch and protein.

    • My dogs tend to do the same thing, when I try to exercise. I just try to add them in while warming up with floor exercise. they are good wieghts, especailly while doing leg lifts.
