Spring is my favorite season of the year!  Everything is new, green, and fresh!  One of my favorite things to do in the spring is to visit a nursery located in a very tiny town of Appling, GA.  It’s about 20 - 30 minutes from my house and worth the drive.  In fact I will end up going several times before I’m done.  I’ve posted a few pictures of the 30 greenhouses that contain thousands of flowers, plants, shrubs, and roses and pics of what I purchased.

What gardening things do you like to do each year? What are your favorite flowers and plants?

    • I forgot to include the name of the nursery...it’s called Sanderlin’s Greenhouses.

    • When I lived in Washington State I loved being able to garden in the spring and summer. All the bulbs were popping up from daffodils and tulips to lilys and dahlias.

I’ve gotten lazy in Hawaii with gardening. The soil where I live is horrible and needs lots of amending and we have deer, pigs and other creatures roaming around that destroy things that I plant.

For some reason they’ve not touched the giant rosemary bush in the yard!

    • Absolutely beautiful! I love the renewal that happens in Spring. I love to clean out the yard of left over deadness of winter and make room for the growth and renewal. I usually plant tons of flowering pots and hanging baskets.
This year I am going to try to plant a small herb garden in pots  for my back deck.

    • I love the spring too. I live in Kansas and it gets very brown in the winter. A week or so ago it rained and everything just came alive, it was so exciting! The new green grass began peeking out from under the hay like clumps on the ground, the many flowering trees started bursting into bloom and daffodils shot up and bloomed overnight. I was dazzled and swear I could feel the life coming back into all the growing things around me!

BTW Mary, I really love your choice of colors in your plants!
