When I returned from my Labor Day getaway to Mexico, I was ready to go again! I had wanderlust! Within weeks I had convinced my husband that we should take my college-aged stepkids to Florida the weekend after Christmas.

Well, here it is, the eve (actually now, the morning) of our departure, and I really want to stay home. First, I did not lose the weight I intended to. Second, I am itching to get started on the next round of candles. Third, I’m going to miss my dog terribly! We have sitters coming to the house to care for her, but she is a daily fixture in my life, and basically my child. And fourth-possibly no computer, at least not just anytime I want to log on.

Now, I know I will have a great time. My stepkids and I get along great. My husband has not spent a whole week with them since before his divorce. The weather is supposed to be great. Plus, I packed up a whole bunch of craft supplies, books, and crossword puzzles to keep busy while I have no computer!

Our driveway departure time is 4:30 am, and yes, it is 12:30 am. I never get tired til about 1am, so I will nap, then sleep in the carefully packed car my hubz arranged (I have learned not to contribute to this process.)

I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year, and I will hopefully check in from time to time!

Once you get going your going to be happy you are on the way.

Do not worry about the weight you wanted to lose, or the candles you want to make...make the most out of the time you are going to have with the fam.

Then...get back and lose the weight you wanna lose and get to making me some candles!!!lol

Have a wonderful and safe trip!!
      xoxo

    • You will definitely be missed but certainly not forgotten. We will await your return so we can hear all about the great trip!

I know how you feel, Lu. I couldn’t believe we were going away right before the busiest time of year for me. No computer, no chocolate machines, leaving my cat at home with my stepdaughter. I had a mixture of excitement, anticipation, anxiety and guilt all at the same time.

Use this time to make wonderful plans for your business in the coming year, have lots of relaxation, enjoy your family and take lots of photos!

    • And your off!!  Have a great time! I always do exactly what you are doing.  A form of vaction remorse.  I think it is because everything here at home is usually just as you like it, and you dont want to leave that convience.  Enjoy yourself and your puppy will be so glad to see you when you get home.

    • Lu,
I hope you have a great time. You should give a shout when you are headed home. We are probably at your half way point. Maybe I could meet you in Forsyth (an interstate fast food town.) Probably wouldn’t work with the whole fam in tow, but if your stopping to eat anyway, let me know. I’ll run into town and say hi. :)

    • Lu, I have the same problem with taking time away from home. Every time it’s a struggle until I get down the road a ways. Then it’s like I never look back! I hope that once you are on the road all of your concerns and reservations will be but a memory and the rest of the trip a blast! Can’t wait to hear about all the fun!
