Video games have come a long way since the first one we owned, The Intelevision !

Our children played on an Atari,Nintendo, Playstation (1-2-3) and now we have a Wii.

Being grandparents we have to keep up with the newest technology out there and the games the kids play.

We have a hand-me-down PS2, given to us by our oldest grandson who got a new 360,in the spare room for the grandchildren to play their games on when here.

We limit their video game playing when here. We believe in more physical outside activities. We also like to play board and card games with them.  But sooner or later we have to give the video games a go because like it or not that is a big part of their generation and /> So, Maw, that is me, gets talked into playing HALO, a 360 game, by my youngest 10 year old grandson while visiting him in Colorado.

I had not a clue as to what I was doing. He is pressing buttons, shooting and jumping here and there and I was totally lost. We are playing on a split screen, he was in one screen and I was supposed to be in the other screen. Could have fooled me! I had no idea where I was or where I was supposed to be. So Devon tells me that he will come and get me in his car so we can go an fight the bad guys. All of a sudden in my part of the screen appears Devon in this Hummer looking vehicle. “_Get in Maw_ “, he tells me. “_How do I do that, Devon_ ?” He tells me which buttons to push to get into the car with him and off we go to track down and fight the bad guys.
All of a sudden we are back in his screen and bad guys are everywhere and shooting at us!!  Devon’s figure gets out of the car. The real Devon puts down his controller, puts his hand up in a motion to stop me and says “**_Maw, just stay in the car* _ !* ”

I have to tell you after that Maw made up her mind that never again would she be told to Stay In the Car  ! I am not great at video games but at least I can play them with my grandchildren without embarrassing myself or them.
