So last night I had this dream that I went into the pantry to get my kids some Quaker Instant Oatmeal for breakfast.  I pulled out a couple of envelopes and then noticed one which had been opened, on the shelf, rolled closed.  Very unlike me, I grabbed it, opened it and dumped the contents into my mouth.  It was raw and crunchy, but became quickly bitter.  I dumped some into my hand and realized that intermixed with the cereal were little brown bugs, sort of resembling ladybugs, except smaller, brown and flat.

I immediately ran to the restroom and began spitting them into the sink, rinsing and spitting until I was sure they were gone.  I opened my mouth and looked into the mirror... there were still about 7 of them clinging to my tongue!

If anyone has any idea how this would be interpreted, please let me know.  Thank you!

    • Do you worry about boweevils getting in your grains (rice, flour, cereal). Is there something else going on in your life that is so minute in substance that you really shouldnt be consumed with it. Consider the circumstances and occurrences going on in this season.

    • Just a few thoughts:

Are you doing something right now in your life that is typically out of charachter for you?

Could the bitter taste in your dream have to do with some resentment, anger, unresolved tensions in your relationships?

I there something you really need to say to someone - “spitting it out” so to speak?

Another dream interpretation trick, how did you feel immediately after waking from the dream or remembering the dream; angry? anxious? sad? Sometimes the emotions attached to the dream can be a guide to its meaning.

      Best of luck to you

    • Chocolatier!  That is exactly it!  I feel trapped in my relationship and I terribly want to get out. He complains about the kids eating all of his oatmeal, because it is a favorite of my son.  I actually did an article today on abusive relationships.

I write for Examiner and did a two part article entitled “The‘Seven Deadly Sins’ That Kill Children.” (I write for single parents) But after doing the article, I wonder why I am still where I am, for I recognized a lot of similarities.  Granted, it is not nearly as bad as the women and children in these stories, but it should not have to be!

    • I wager to gander you are afraid of losing your “identity,” your real self.  Perhaps you are pretending to be someone you are not, in order to appear more appealing to someone?
