Two recent reports prove that people can be idiots when it comes to cosmetic medicine:

Risky eyelash-lengthening technique:  New York Times reports on lively online sales of the eyelash-extending drug Latisse to consumers who have not visited a doctor for a prescription. Side effects of the drug can include changes in eye color and growth of hair where it's not wanted.

Cosmetic-medicine consultant Wendy Lewis comments: It is so irresponsible to sell a drug to use around the eyes direct to consumers without a medical license – what if something goes wrong! I have seen Lumigan sold in makeup salons in the UK too, right out in the open.

Twenty percent would self-inject Botox?  That's the finding of a new survey in the United Kingdom. "Surely you would have to be bonkers to do DIY Botox," comments the Liverpool Daily Post. In comparison only 11 percent would dare to cut their own hair.

Nicole Kidman has ruined her face from too much Botox?  So says British TV personality Amanda Holden. The blog "Mr. Paparazzi" reports that the "Britain's Got Talent" judge, who formerly used to be quite partial to the muscle paralysing serum (but has now given up using it) has said that almost "every" actress ends up using Botox in a bid to stay younger, however she reckons that Kidman and other stars have taken the habit a bit too far. In Your Face comments: Nicole Kidman may be a Botox regular, though she denies it, but how has she "ruined her face"?
