Just curious.
Sunday dinner in my home growing up was always a big deal. This is one of my favorite family rituals , so i , in turn, have carried on the tradition. I always invite someone that doesn’t live here, like my Mother In law or nephew, one of the kids friends...etc to join us on Sunday nights.
Is this something any of you have as a family tradition or ritual? If so, are there any favorite Sunday menus past or present you’d like to share?
Thanks for reading this!
Have a wonderful Sunday Dinner!
Friends,
Ree

    • Hi Ree. I love that tradition. I don’t do it as often as I should because we entertain so much in our home for my husband’s work. But, when I do, I like to invite friends over for Sunday dinner and either put something on the grill or make an old fashioned comfort meal like pot roast or a leg of lamb with potatoes, salad, vegetables and I always make a dessert. seems as if I only talk chocolate here but actually I love to cook. And I like baking pies when I have company. I use my husband’s mother’s pie crust recipe so it’s really flaky.

But mostly I like the smells in the house when we‘re doing an old fashioned dinner. It just screams HOME.

Hope you have a great dinner.
      Cynthia

    • Something I forgot to mention. When we have another couple over I bring out my Grandmother’s dishes and her silver. Makes me feel like she’s at the dining table too.

    • So , here I am sitting waiting on my hubby to get home so we can have our Sunday dinner...
      On the menu this evening...
      ~Seasoned Eye Roast
~Mashed Potatoes, 2 types, one with garlic and green onions
one just plain old fashioned mashed
~ spinach with olive oil and garlic
~ buttered corn with crushed black peppercorn
~ Homeade Cole slaw ( My fathers recipe...the best i ever had!)

For Dessert ~ We have a chocolate covered starawberry banana mousse cake. I did not make it, i went to a wonderful little Italian bakery in South Philadelphia to buy it. It is a decadent splurge to say the least but everyone has been working so hard at their jobs and school and sports these past few weeks and that i think we deserve the treat!
Have a wonderful Sunday evening ladies!
      ~ Ree
