I have often wondered why technology isn't taken to another level to be of assistance in prevention. We buy so many pieces of technology for our pleasure, and yet there are so many tragedies that occur that a simple device could prevent. My thoughts are this....

Why aren’t more children wearing a device that can prevent abduction. I would like to see someone manufacturer a cute shoe with a device installed. Perhaps this might also be a device that could be inserted onto/into any shoe. I would also like to see a watch that a child could open the face of and touch as an alarm to alert the parents. As I open my mind further, perhaps anyone could wear this watch in which an alarm would go off to their person of choice in the case of an extreme emergency. This would be great for a female who is out alone at different times.

What prompts me to write this blog since it has been on my mind for so long is the case of Louisa Rodas who was shot in the head (blogged about on Fabulously40) by her sister’s estranged husband who had been in jail.

If it were a perfect world and I could dream a device into the making, it would be one that is constructed to fit onto the person who is a threat to another individual. It could not possibly be removed unless a limb were detached. This device would be programmed by individuals who fear for their safety. They  would program the address that they are at all times and an alarm would signal if the possible threat is within a certain proximity.

Had Louisa’s sister had this type of device, an alarm would have gone off which would have alerted all of her family members as well.

My question is this....
WHY,WHY,WHY, when there is SO many pieces of technology and tracking devices can’t we find a way to make a person who is a threat to our society made to wear such a device? WHY?

ALSO.... are WE ALL in the “line of fire” when we visit our banks, grocery stores, etc?  I believe we are!!!  I would want a person who is being stalked to be killed to wear such a device. Would YOU?

I could write on forever as my thoughts ramble on.... but my dream would be to see technology save lives.

What are your thoughts? Also, what type technology to help others would you like to see?
