Does anyone know the song by that title?  We’ve got a new radio station that plays actual rock music and I’ve heard this song a couple times, but I don’t really know the song. I don’t really know any rock songs, I was country when country wasn’t cool.

However, my station at work has been dubbed “the teenage wasteland” because of the three teenage girls I have working with me.  It’s not enough to have the new rock station blaring thru the workplace, but then they get bored and plug in THEIR teenage girl music.

For those of you who have or have had teenagers, did you like their music?

Thursday by lunchtime, my eye was twitching in time to their “music“.  If I hear Miley Cyrus one more time, I won’t be responsible for the fact that I go have a 90 proof lunch!!!!

My boss stopped by our area and asked if I had enough headache medication.  I showed him my nearly empty tylenol bottle and he laughed.

I did hear a song that I kind of liked and I asked who does it.  The answer, a group called “bowling for soup”   Wow.

My daughter, my husband, my boyfriend, and now these girls have all been trying to educate me musically this summer.  My head is going to explode.

    • When my daughter was a teenager we both watched the top 20 countdown of pop music videos on Saturdays. I liked most of the songs.

Whenever I hear songs I like on the radio I usually don’t remember the title, but when I’m with my daughter she knows right away. I don’t mine Miley Cyrus’s “Wreaking Ball“, but forget her other songs.

Bowling for Soup sounds familiar. These days artists are so creative with the name of their group such as Bare Naked Ladies they‘re all guys.

    • I’ve heard that song. I like the music from the 80s and 90s best. My daughter has always listened to country which I like , my son listens to loud obnoxious noise.

    • LOL!  I have one daughter who is all/only country.  One daughter who is country and heavy metal and one daughter who is all over the place, but mostly  loud obnoxious noise.  Not even sure what my son listens to.

    • The Who does have a song by that name..it is from the late 60’s or early 70’s...otherwise I know nothing about recent teen music.

My son as a teen listened to heavy metal (which included new and old....remember Black Sabbath anyone?), juggalo (now, what the heck is that?) well, apparently a combination of white rap and loud thumping is the best I can describe...he liked Insane Clown Posse and Twizted...then, there was the German metal group which reminded me of gothic style music and he shaved his head and sported a weird beard...oh and cannot forget the Industrial bands, which was a combination of synthesizers, and a lot of “F” words.  It was all so funny to me, because now as an adult he is more focused on his job and has mellowed out a lot.estatic

    • OMG,  I’d forgotten about Insane Clown Posse.  My manic/depressive neighbor is seriously into them and was always making me listen to something or other of theirs.

My youngest daughter is into a lot of German and Norweigan heavy metal.  I have to be in the right mood, but when I’m in the mood, I really like it even though most of the screaming isn’t in English.  She also loves older stuff like AC/DC and so on.
