Oh heaven help me, it’s that time of year again!!!!

The time when my BFF starts nagging me to get “a hairstyle”

I’ve told her, repeatedly, that long and straight IS a style.

Complete strangers tell me my hair is AMAZING.  Men who know me, love my hair.  Women who can’t grow their hair out envy me.  What more could I possibly want from a hair style?

My hair is healthy and shiny and almost down to my butt.  I wear it braided to work because it’s practical.  If I choose, I can wear it up, or in a pony tail or long and flowing.  That’s a pretty versatile hair style in my opinion.

I just don’t understand why I should suffer thru an annual trip the beauty shop.  She wants to give me this for my birthday and frankly I’d rather be kicked in the head by a cow.

    • In my younger years I had long hair. I got a lot of compliments, yet my mom said that people are just being nice and long straight hair is boring. Just like your friend I think she was jealous of my long beautiful hair.

    • If I could grow my coarse, wavy, disastrous hair past anything but the bottom of my neck without it becoming a frizzy mess, I would in a heartbeat.

Enjoy your long, beautiful hair and when your friend brings up the subject, tell her you would appreciate a lovely basket of garden supplies instead, as I know you love gardening too.

    • Mzd, no she won’t take no for an answer.  She emailed me yesterday to let me know what weekend she was making the appointment for.  Luckily for me, that is the weekend of my grandson’s birthday.   :)

Linda, you are absolutely right.  Nobody ever compliments her hair and she’s green with envy when people call mine amazing.

Mary, that’s my plan.  If she wants to girly me up, she can get me a pedicure or something.

Neicy, YES!!!! That’s exactly what I do best is ME!  :)

    • Aaaahhhhh such a sweet thought tho from your friend. Ask her if she really wants to treat you to a pamper session then how about BFF pedicures and lunch afterwards?

      Keep the hair!

    • LOL!  Vikki you read my mind.  That is EXACTLY what I told her.

It took a lot of arguing first though.  She was convinced I’d “feel like a million bucks” after I got my hair trimmed.  And  I said, no I don’t.   Getting my hair trimmed (which hubby takes care of incidentally) is the same to me as getting my teeth cleaned or having a physical.  I said I feel like a million bucks quite often and it never has anything to do with a trip to the salon!
