OH THE AMAZING COLOR OF RED! I have always been more than attracted to the color of red. It is the color of jewels: Rubies and Garnets! The color of Roses and Love. It is even in childhood fairy tales like the color of Snow Whites ruby red lips and Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers in the Wizard of Oz! As a little girl when I was having my 5th birthday my Mother asked me what I wanted for my present and I responded with “I want a RED birthday“. My wonderful Mom gave me a red birthday! A Red dress, red balloons, red cupcakes, red plates, and so on. My wonderful daughters gave me a red birthday 2 years ago!. Red reminds me of the wonderful holidays we are about to have. Christmas ornaments, wrapping paper, poinsettias, lights, trees, my birthday again, my children’s birthdays, winter in the snow. I have red all around my house because I think it is such an amazingly beautiful color that God gave us. Valentines Day is filled with Red and so is the Fourth of July. Three of my four daughters are half Japanese so a lot of red is in their heritage.

Now you know all about my love of RED! I hope you enjoy a wonderful color as much as I do.

Red Joy to you,
Denise

    • Denise: Red is most welcomed and popular color for Chinese.  It represents festivities, happiness and joy.  Are you finding yourself gradually changing to be a Chinese?  Maybe this is the 40 and beyond hormones therapy!?  Just kidding.

    • Chinadoll....I don’t think I’m quite changing to be a Chinese.  A lot would have to happen.  But I still like the Chinese red color...I guess I’m a happy and joyful person.
      If it’s a hormone..I’m keeping it.

    • A couple of years ago I fell in love with Sage green. I redecorated my bedroom with this color. I have really enjoyed it because it is so relaxing. However, I’m ready for a change.
For some reason, burnt orange is very interesting to me right now. I just love it! I did my bathroom in this color only because the rugs I bought were on clearance and they matched the wall paper which is kind of hard to match. I was amazed at how much I liked the color. It Pops!

    • I like brick red better, but I am a fall person. What does that represent Chinadoll? :)
Lisa, I like browns too, but the toasted almond brown is my favorite. I had a camisole once many years go that was that color with a golden sheen to it. I am always looking for something just that color and can never quite find it.

And I have wished and wished for a red headed little girl with green-blue eyes like my hubby has. There is red on both sides, but we’ve never gotten it. Our first 6 were all brown and brown, and then the gene pool changed. We have 3 blondes, and two golden browns with 5 of them being blue eyes. I am not sure but I think Joshua’s eyes were going to be green. In all that mix, no red head. :(

    • My hall bathroom is going to be black and gold after Christmas...with a touch of animal print.

But my kitchen and great room, breakfast room are two different shades of green....not sage...but a lighter shade of a muted lime green if that makes any dang sense.

My dining room is an Italian yellow..and I love it.

My niece lives at the beach and she has a half bath painted a tangerine orange...I love it.

    • Lu, rub it in! When I tried to go red it turned out fuschia. Marched my butt to town with a baseball cap on my head and paid $90 for some chic to ‘glaze’ over it. Guess what, as I washed it returned. I learned you don’t have to wash your hair every day... or even every other day. haha It took MONTHS for that color to fade completely.
