Other research shows that just two 8-ounce cups of tea daily can dramatically reduce the risk of dying from heart disease—most likely because of the artery-friendly polyphenols in tea.

Gosh I wish I liked tea.....but I don’t even drink a whole lot of southern sweet tea....I mean I like it but I don’t make it every day in my house like some people do. And I’m a coffee drinker....not hot tea.
I may have to try to acquire a taste for it somehow. Those are good odds.
That’s a phenomenal statistic. I’m currently a 3-4 cup a day coffee drinker, but after reading this I’m seriously considering retraining myself to drink tea, instead.

I actually used to drink a lot of green tea unfortunately I have‘nt been drinking it as much as I once did. I’ve known for a while the benefits of green tea but when I read the article I was amazed.

I love green tea. I have at least 2 cups with breakfast and then I drink it throughout the day. I also miss it up with white tea. I steep the bags together, it’s a great combination. If I get a taste for something sweet late at night, I reach for tea instead.
I like tea to be sweet...and the last time I tried drinking green tea...I about spit it out. What can I do to doctor it up?
Try adding honey and lemon or try flavored ones like the one suburdsanity drinks with pomergranite. There are many different varities to try. White tea is also good. Some say it’s even more potent than green tea.

I don’t really have a particular brand. I think I usually get Celestial Seasonings the most but I like to try different brands. Mostly I’ll forget the names so I’ll pick the prettiest package...lol
Great article, I love tea, I think it is the english upbringing (lol) and I drink all kinds, my fav this month is the blooming tea it is a lavendar and jasmine blend. (now I sell it) but it would have still been a fav really good as a iced tea the next day.

make sure and get a good grade of honey and something light it will make all the difference and use fresh lemon much cleaner taste.
Lavendar and Jasmine sounds like something I’d like to try. I love lavendar anything...it’s so soothing.

You present a strong argument, Almost fiveO. I was on my green tea kick about a year ago in an attempt to give up my pot-a-day coffee habit. If I recall correctly, THAT lasted all of MAYBE 2 weeks. My intentions were good. I’m all for trying it again, though.

I just tried a tea that my stepdaughter left here... green tea with flowers and honey.
OMG, so bad. I couldn’t get past 2 sips of the stuff. And she loves it! Maybe I’m just not cut out for tea. I’ve never really found one that made me say “Gosh, this is good!”
Mrsnubian, I am a biiiiig fan of jasmine. Teamed with lavender must be heavenly. Hubz had a box of green tea I tucked in the pantry when we moved. Pulled it out to the counter last week. It sat for a week, now it’s in the cabinet by the sink. Bad me!!! Carol, I’ve got to learn to master myself!!

LOL! I know Feathergirl...sometimes is an aquired taste. I can drink green tea without any sweetening but my husband has to add loads of sugar if he drinks it.
Correction to my post, too... it’s green tea with flowers and lemon, not honey.
The back of the flavor, if that makes sense, was horrid! I’ve used peppermint tea when I’m sick to clear a stuffy nose, and really sweet green tea is okay, but for the most part I prefer all sorts of stuff that tastes great and is horrid for me.
LOL! Well, Diet Dew perhaps, but now you‘re getting the idea.
