If we can get enough participation in the Lean for Life/Perfect Body Shape Challenge, I'd like to do a Biggest Loser Contest. We'll be measuring in inches, not pounds.. and we'll have to figure out how to do a percentage to make it fair to those who have less to lose.
I'd love some ideas on how to calculate it. My thought was to calculate BMI - and then compute the difference. For instance, if your BMI is 30 and you drop it to 25 - then your score would be 5. We could just use raw inch loss data, but I don't think that would be fair. I guess if we got enough participation we could do separate categories. I'd like to give away a month's supply of Osolean to the winner - or maybe a canister of Glycoslim for each category.

    • I just joined a Biggest Loser competition in work today...so far ( and it is only day 1) we have 7 people at $10/ person. We weigh in this Friday to start then each successive Friday until the end of the contest( 16 weeks). If you gain or stay the same you have to kick in a predetermnined amount of money. The winner ( to be determined by the one who loses the  highest percentage of body weight) wins ALL THE MONEY!
Sounds good to me. Let me know how you are going to work it here!

    • LOL @ Chinadoll! I love lobster!!!! With drawn butter, mmmm.
Ree, for those who join the Osolean Challenge they won't have to put money into the pot (since they'll be spending on Osolean.) I wanted to encourage everybody though with an incentive of some sort. Though I do get a little referral bonus when someone starts the program, with the wholesale packages, I don't really make much - I just want to help ya'll get the best deal. With that said, I thought if we could get enough participants (a team of 6) then I could give away some products (using the referall bonus $$). If there are folks who want to participate in the contest and not use Osolean, I guess they could pitch in $20 and still have the chance to win. I still want the points handicapped in some way - maybe calculate what a 2 percent loss per week would be for each person based on weight and then come up with a formula. Anything more than 2% would be losing muscle, not fat.
What if we calculated what 2% would be then subtracted actual weight loss to get a score
For instance (for ease in calculation)
Actual weight at start 200 lbs... 2 percent would be 4 lbs.
      Week one - lose 3 lbs = 1 pt
Doing it this way would mean that the person with the lowest score would be the winner. Losing more than 2 percent would not give you negative points. Zero would be the best score.
Now - what I’d like to see would be an all way tie! LOL Of course, I’d have to drop back and punt with regard to the prize if that happened. estatic

    • So far Heather is the biggest loser. She needs some competition! :) Three more have joined. Anybody else. Our target date is May - you can take the best 12 weeks between now and then.
We need baseline measurements, and to calculate BMI. I am also going to include the calculations mentioned above where you figure out what you could possibly lose in fat (2% of your weight per week) and then use a formula (possible - actual) which will discourage losing too fast (and unhealthy.)

    • Our contest added two more competitors last night - who else wants to join us?
Grand prize just might possibly be airfare & accomodations for the NOLA trip (depending on participation) - We still need a few more in order for me to be able to give away the monthly supply of Osolean & Glycoslim.
