In a world, where there is increasing evidence of a global recession, this Valentine's Day message offers a word of hope to everyone.

The economy of the world appears to be based upon money, or in Biblical terms, mammon. Money appears to be in short supply, everywhere around the world.

Note the word 'appears', because what 'appears' to be fact, may not be fact at all.

"Is money really in short supply?" one must ask. The global economy is always perceived as being monetary based and in terms of lack, or deficit.

There is another kind of economy and it is a Biblical interpretation or understanding of the word economy. This is what is referred to here as the economy of love, rooted and grounded in ‘the love of God and one another‘.

The economy of love is not based upon a deficit. The economy of love is never in a state of deficiency. There is no deficit, or deficiency in love, ever. There is no lack in love.

"God is love."

Does God have a deficit? No.

Does God lack anything, or want His people to have a lack of anything? No.

Everyone can give someone a Valentine on February 14, 2009 AD, because there is no deficit, or lack of love, in a love based economy. You can offer someone, somewhere, an expression of your love.

You can say "I love you."

Why on Valentine's Day? Why not? What do you have to lose?

What kind of a Valentine can you give to others, even when you don't have any money?

Everyone can pray this prayer in one accord, believing that God answers prayers. Trust in God and in the power of prayer. Believe that He will answer your prayer.

Let this be your Valentine for February 14th, 2009 AD and the one that you give to others.

Heavenly Father,

I confess that I am in need of your economy in my life, one that is based upon your love and the abundance of your blessings. Please forgive me for placing my faith in a world economy, based upon money or mammon. I now place my faith in your economy of love. Forgive all of my sins and shortcomings. Fill me, refresh me and renew me daily, with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.

Have a happy Valentine's Day!
