I dated this guy once.  He was 30 years old, reasonably intelligent, had a good job and did not have any weird habits - not any that would be necessarily alarming anyway.

However, this guy, I guess once he got comfortable with me, started telling me, “This isn’t how love turns out in the movies.”  Seriously!  I am not lying to you!  We would have an argument about something and he would say, “But it doesn’t happen like that in the movies!  I want that kind of relationship.”

OK, let’s get this straight (for those of you who don’t know this), movies are NOT REAL!  A movie is just a freakin’ (is ‘freakin’ a curse word?) fantasy conjured up in the sick, twisted mind of some writer (obviously not the kind of writer I am, obviously) who is just trying to make a few bucks.

Needless to say, I dropped Homie like a hot rock.

So, what are our takeaways here?

Love is not easy.
Relationships are not easy.
Love and relationships are NOT what you see in the movies.

Now you may be saying, “Yeah, tell me something I don’t know.”
But apparently, there are at least some people who DON‘T know and many who don’t act as if they know.

Love, at least the way that movies, television and the media portray it, is not stable.

Say you are married or in a relationship with someone.  

There will be some days that you wake up wondering if ‘all this’ is worth it.
Some days you will wonder if you have make the right choice.
Some days you will wonder if you even like the person you are with, much less love them.
Some days you won’t want to be around your partner.
