Hi - I’m Debbie, the “gadget half” of As I sit here with my mobile office, I thought the best way for you to get to know me is through knowing my gadgets ... and I have a few. For this blog ... I’ll “introduce you” to my computer. Strange, you say? Well, not for a gadget girl like me. I’m quite impressed with my little square box.

My laptop of choice is a MacBook Pro. But I wouldn’t say I’m totally and 100% Mac ... because I’m actually both. ON ONE MACHINE! Does that make me a “PaC“?

Yes, it is possible to have the best of both worlds all in one.  It's a program that can be purchased for the Mac called VMware Fusion. It costs less than $100. You install it, then install Windows, and with the push of a button you can actually run both Mac and PC at the same time.

When in unity mode, I have the typical PC bar along the bottom and the Mac “dock” on the left. I can drag and drop from one application/folder to the other - whether it be on the PC or the Mac.

Now you may wonder WHY I would need both.  Good question! I guess most "normal" people wouldn't. But I think normal is overrated. That's not my reason for having both Mac and PC.

It’s really because I am a website designer. I custom design and manipulate photos, and graphics and create logos all day using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. These programs run best on a Mac ... and trust me - I’ve used them on a PC before and although they work, they are not at the same speed level they are on a Mac.

For web coding and testing, I prefer to do that on a PC. I also find that most of my clients own a PC and since I specialize in helping small businesses get up and running on the web, there are many times I also need to walk them through setting up email. With the capability of having a PC right at my fingertips (literally), I can take them STEP BY STEP through the process.

With my current set up, I can test my websites on the PC using Internet Explorer or Firefox, or the Mac using Firefox or Safari.

I really do have the best of both worlds. And thus, I can proudly say “I’m a Mac ... and a PC“.

What are you?

Love it
