heartheartheartheart In my best singing voice,  " What the world needs now is love sweet love...that's the only thing that there is much too little of." heartheartheartheart

I absolutely love  my community and my country but I am simply perplexed on  why it is so hard for Americans to practice the politics of love.

Recently, I have been simply amazed at the amount of debate around whether President Obama is American born or not.  Are we really STILL talking about this?  Usually I would dismiss this as a topic worth mentioning but based on a blog that I read today and watching this phony campaign and accusation by Donald Trump this topic inspired me to share some of my thoughts....

Although this ongoing “American citizenship” issue is what has my panties all in a twist, that will NOT be the focus of this blog. I don’t want to give any more brain energy to that political distraction. No more power to that foolishness.

*heartI want to practice the politics of love!

Jobs not being shipped out to China and India. Companies, like most banks, not legally allowed to give NO BENEFITS if you work less than 34 hours per week, more uplifting TV shows like “Touched By An Angel“, people who would not wear $250,000 engagement rings (hello, Reese Witherspoon) when a $25,000 ring would be stunning and a lot of people could be fed and sheltered with the $225,000 difference! And, once again, America feeling like a land of opportunity rather than the land of the haves and the have nots, where the rich get rich and the poor get poorer and every time you turn around, they‘re trying to take away some one’s pension. I’d also like to see equal opportunity for all.

I know there would be those who disagree with me, but I think Jesus would not like to see all these hungry people on the street and our jails full of people who are not being redeemed and made fit for a successful return to society.

Also I think in a loving society people would make an effort to get to know and care about their neighbors.

Sorry- you just struck a nerve with that question!
