Let me begin by clearly stating that i am not an alarmist.  I am typically the person who diffuses a situation.  I hate drama to the degree that i probably dismiss some things that i shouldn’t...simply to avoid drama!

It’s been years since i’ve been able to eat rich foods, dairy products, spicy foods, fried foods or garlic without considerable pain soon after.  My doctor decided i had irritable bowel syndrome...that seemed reasonable to me.  Over the years, my stomach trouble has gradually gotten worse until the middle of February when all kinds of hell broke loose.  It’s been three weeks now that my stomach is making all kinds of noises day and night.  I’m not hungry, i’m just noisy!  Last week i suffered with what i thought was the intestinal flu and my stomach is still weak and noisy.  I’m beginning to think there’s something more going on.  My physiology is a mess, i have a yukky taste in my mouth and nothing sounds good to me except water...lots and lots of water!  A couple of times this past week i became light headed while working.

Anyone have any opinions or experience similar to this?  I’m wondering if it could be hormonal as i’m “at that age“.  I’m pretty sure that i’ll be calling my doctor if things don’t improve in the next week or so.

    • Daphne....I’m definitely not a doctor nor am I a nurse...but that just doesn’t sound like hormones to me...not at all.  Of course..I can be wrong....but I’ve never heard of any of those symptoms associated with hormonal troubles.

My opinion....go see a gastro dr.  If you already do...get a second opinion.  The thing that worries me...you stated that you have a yukky taste in your mouth and nothing sounds good to you except water.

Something is definitely going on and it’s best to get it checked out...I wouldn’t wait a week.  JMO...hope you feel better.happy

    • I suggest you go and check it out.  It was about 2 months ago Chines tea made me sick to my stomach.  (Hack, not for an oriental, never, ever I thought).  Then later, I had no appetite and also gas or grumbling in my body like you said.  For me, it turned out my liver had issue.  Now, I don’t mean you will have the same, however, if you have insurance, then it is best to have it checked out.  Ask for a CMP (Complete Metabolic Panel) at least.  Hope you feel better and please check it out.

    • Linda, I have a terribly sensitive stomach. Garlic sometimes can make me really sick to my stomach. And milk has become a “no no.” And spicy... forget it! It sounds like we have the same stomach. However, the bad taste in your mouth and the sounds do not sound familiar.

Please let us know what you find out.

      Big Hugs!

    • Yes, Daphne, go get it checked. When you were so ill just last week, that didn't sound right, and now what you're describing in addition really doesn't sound right!
