    • I once went on a date with a guy who was so unattractive, that he could easily be called “ugly“. It was a blind date and I was only 19. I opened the door, and my first instinct was to shut the door and make up a b.s. story, but I didn’t want to hurt his feeling, so I went out to dinner with him anyway.

After two hours of listening to the most intelligent man I have ever met, his looks were no longer important. He was charming, funny, and had a great personality. Even at 19 when every girl wants to date a good looking guy, (and I wasn’t different), I found myself saying yes to another date, because by then his ugliness was replaced by the beauty of his soul.

      Personality over looks every time.....

    • Hi Yana,

I’m glad you were wise enough to still go on the date.
      xoxo

PS  I’ve been really busy and meaning to get in touch with you.  Real life has just been way TOO much, getting in the way of my other life.

    • I am glad you discovered at a young age that looks are just that, looks, and were sensitive enough not to hurt his feelings.

I, too, would never have canceled out (I had a similar experience, went on the date, and unfortunately, mine did not have any personality to speak of, poor guy).

Of course, everyone wants to be thought to attract good looking guys, but it did not take me too long to figure out that the ones that are too good looking, as a rule, don’t have the depth I need in a person.

    • My daughter is hooked on that show......

Starting out my adult life as a hairstylist I had no choice in who I talked to if they were in my chair. So by trade I learned to overlook looks and pay attention to personality. Afterall a mohawk would never do on the President of a bank! Anyways that professional training carried over into my personal life too. I just like people and like hearing their storyhappy

    • Yeah, it is amazing what is important in youth and how it changes with not age, but wisdom. Thank God those days are over for me.  I would not mind having a young body again, but I would never, ever give up all those hard earned lessons.
