I am on SSI, I saved 300 for an HDTV. I had 5 Hd channels, ABC,CBS,NBC,Fox and BBC.Not very many but im poor and that was good enough.
All of a sudden having cable isnt enough for the digital transition. Comcast sends out free converter boxes. This box is blocking all HD and I would have to get a package from them to get it. But, I now have on demand that I will never use and another remote to mess with, I am so angry I sent a complaint to the FCC.
Comcast is greedy and evil and this is just unbelievable

I remember growing up it was the “thing” to have cable because there was no commercials! We had rabbit ears on the tv and a big straight antenne outside, braced against the house( we used it as a ladder to get on top of the house, hey, i was a kid) Greed,Greed and more Greed! oh my,here piggy, piggy, piggy!

    • It doesn’t matter what you pay or don’t the TV is crap ... doesn’t matter how many channels either in the winter when you want to watch it due to long nights it’s repeats and when it’s summer - it’s just sports and as a nation thats football crazy (I hate) when we have the World cup OMG I could gnaw my own arm off with boredom..

If they had anything decent on the TV we women would be watching it not on here .......so Fab40 is my TV

    • You know what makes me so darn mad? When I was a kid you did not have to pay to watch TV. Then came sattelite you had more choices and now the channels that I used to watch for free now cost me to watch at all. When I first called the cable company to come and install basic becuse I lived in a brand new city just being built (Irvine CA). The guy came and installed the box turned the set on it worked he left. I turned to the regular channels and snow was all I could see. I called the cable company and asked why cant I get the channels 2,4,5,7,9,11,13? All my life these have been free and now I have to pay additional to have these channels. Chaps my hide, maks me madder than an ole wet hen.

    • I agree. I hate paying for QVC, ESPN, Spanish Channels (Heck I don’t even know Spanish), HSN, Catholic channel, golf channel,

I mostly watch the history channel, animal planet, the sci-fi channel, local channels for NCIS and Bones, and sometimes the health channel (love DR. G)

It is fine to have these channels but let us pay for the channels we want, our bill would be less if we could cut out the shows we don't watch anyways.

And what is it with infomercials, don’t we get enough commercials during the shows.

I am also disturbed at TLC and DSC. Fashion shows are not educational they belong on the STYLE channel. Bring back my science shows!!!
