If you’ve read the flip side (my regular blog)-you know that our ds/dil are literally about to deliver grandson #3, so we‘re just going with the flow of life when it comes to our meals.

We also have some other family drama that’s not so easy to deal with going on around here.

With all this in mind-I’ve decided to create meals that can a)  be cooked in a hurry
b) not mind being held hostage by the fridge for a day or two
c)  have marinades and/or rubs that will not “cook” whatever it is-just enhance the foods.

Take tonight-it’s actually last night’s “grill fest“.  Yesterday, while ds/dil were on horizontal hold  (or as ds puts it “DIL is holding the baby hostage“) our other family drama had us just out grabbing a bite at Roberto’s.  That’s a Guy Fieri stop he did here in Anthem on a place that does great food, small prices and 14” homemade tortillas to wrap everything up in.

So tonight we are having very well “seasoned” food! Our menu?

Pork chops marinated in soy, evoo and steak seasoning.   Mini-bells and baby artichokes in a vinaigrette and corn on the cob in garlic, evoo and sea salt.  All on the grill.

I also made some black bean brownies with a peanut butter swirl that both older grandsons have reviewed as “your best and most delicious brownies ever“.

Quite an endorsement, no?  I’ll be happy to post that recipe if anyone would like to give it a whirl.  That’s a play on words as the whole recipe is basically put together in a food processor!

Just hoping we get to have dinner before we‘re given the joy of sitting in the waiting room!!!

Love it
