Well this has been a difficult decision to make, but I am going to close my store.  When I opened the economy was not in quite the crisis it is now, and my family was in much better shape.  Now after these months, my husbands income has been cut in half, and the money I was using as a cushion for my business, has had to become money to make up the difference to keep us afloat.  I am so mad, frustrated, relieved, and too many other emotions to list.  I really enjoyed my shop, but I really thought I would have had the extra income to hire some help and not be living there 24hrs a day...and since I am not willing to sacrifice the things I do with and for my children, the decision has to be this.  My family has to come first...not my business.  I will begin the journey again for somthing I can do; a little here and there, to make my own money.  Thank God it is not somthing I HAVE to do. (At least not yet)

    • As a small businesswoman, I am also sorry to hear this. Hopefully things can turn around sooner rather than later.

    • I am sorry but remember business 101, no decision is a bad decision.  A decision is always good once it is evaluated and decided on.  So you are there.  And focus to move beyond.  No regrets.  It is a great experience - timing is just not right.  You are not a failure.  In fact, a success for you have made a milestone!  Please always remember this.  You’d never know, the experience you learn is what money can never buy!

      So freaking proud of you!

    • Hi KDuncan:

MsJulyfourth here (it’s my b-day) not a title! LOL.
      Found your blog, obviously.
You sound like a very strong and determined lady to me! I work from home. The key word is work.
I didn’t join this site to discuss business but you may be interested in exploring what I do. You still have kids young enough to need that attention only Mom can give them, that’s for sure. And we both know even when they are our age thye will still be your babies!
      Hang in there!
