As winter sneaks up on padded cat paws zapping all of the luscious moisture from your skin you may notice some tell tale signs of this harsh season: flaky skin, redness, more pronounced wrinkles, etc.  There are some things you can do to keep your skin looking healthy and dewy right in your own home.

1. Exfoliation
Exfoliation is important year round but as your skin gets more dry it becomes even more vital.  Using an effective scrub, peel, or mask will help remove dead skin as well as those frustrating flakes that come along for the ride as your skin gets dryer.

2. Argan Oil
This is an incredibly easy product to add to your skin care regimen. [Link Removed] a luxuriously pure and natural plant oil that infuses the skin with healing, moisturizing, and anti-aging properties.  Look for cold pressed and 100% pure products and your skin will soak in the hydration and look beautiful and dewy.

3. Red LED Light Therapy
Red light therapy units such as the [Link Removed] very specific FDA cleared LEDs to penetrate deeply into the layers of the skin where they prompt healing, repair, renewal, and increase the moisture content within the skin.  Both of these systems are FDA cleared for home use and are incredibly easy to use.

4. Omega 3s
Adding an Omega 3 supplement to your diet will help keep your cells plump and juicy.  Fish oil, krill oil, and flaxseed oil all supply omega 3s and are incredibly easy to add to your morning routine.  Omega 3s will help keep your cell membranes strong and supple.

5. Water
Drink plenty of water throughout the day.  Your cells are comprised of a high water content and need replenishment during the day.  You may notice that if you become thirsty(which means your body has reached dehydration) your wrinkles become more pronounced and your skin looks more dull.   Sipping on water throughout the day will help you and your cells stay hydrated.

As the winter months roll in, take some extra steps to take care of your skin and it will pay off by keeping your complexion more youthful and glowing.  While all of your friends and coworkers suffer with dry, parched skin you can relish in the joy of knowing your skin looks beautiful.
