It can be difficult to know when your cosmetic products have exceeded their shelf life. The truth is, its different for different products. Since this is a question that I often get from clients, I thought you might be able to benefit from these general guidelines as outlined below. The answers may surprise you and remember that these are general guidelines and that each individual product is different. It’s a good idea to inquire with whomever you are purchasing the product from.

Mascara: 8-12 weeks
Skincare including cleansers, eye and face creams, lotion (please note that if any of these products of yours contain active ingredients the time may be shorter)
Foundation:2 years
Lipstick: 2 years
Lipgloss:2 years
Pencils (lip and eye): 4 years
Powder blush, eyeshadows and bronzer: 10 years
