I do not know who reads my posts or keeps up with what I am blogging about, but recently I had written a post about reading the book called The Shack.  While I was reading the book “The Shack“, God used this dramatic story about healing relationships and about growing stronger in my faith with God to help me take action to restore the broken relationship that I had struggled about with my dad.

After feeling convicted, I wrote my dad a letter and basically asked for him to forgive me if I had hurt him. I told him that I love him and I shared that I want a closer relationship with him.  Following the completion of the letter, I said a prayer to God to heal me of anger, resentment and unforgiveness.  I prayed that God would use this letter only for His goodness and to let His will be done.  I did not have expectations of hearing from my father.  However, I wanted God to be in complete control of this situation.

Today, God answered my prayers!  Surprisingly, I received a three page letter from my father in the mail.  It was a very positive letter in which my dad wrote that he had prayed to God about me and that God revealed to him that the relationship would be restored in Gods timing and in Gods own special way.  My dad wrote that my letter, my words of forgiveness and the photographs that I sent him of my three children were an answer to his prayers!  He said that he loved me before I was even born, that he has always loved me and it will never change.  He said that it is time for him and I to get together and see one another.  He literally wrote, “THANK YOU GOD!”  (I literally cried happy tears!!!)

My dad wrote that me and my family are welcome to visit him in Michigan any time that we want.  He said that he is planning on coming to Pittsburgh to visit me, my family and my four older sisters in the Spring or summer.

I wanted to share this praise report with all of my friends on Fab40.  I pray that this encourages each of you and that it helps you understand that God DOES hear our prayers, God DOES answer our prayers and God DOES provide miracles every day in unique ways!
