Oh I just love them—garage sales! The things men will put in garage sales when wifey isn’t around, not knowing what they are or what they are worth!

Pfaltzgraf vase $1.00
3 depression glass cups 9.00
Shannon lead crystal tealight holder lamp 1.50
Pair of white capri pants 2.00
three books to read 1.00

So for 14.50 I got three things I collect and three things to read and some pants!

Sorry just had to share!

    • Oooooh, that is a great find.  I don’t visit them enough as I have been in a decluttering mode and reallly shouldn’t add anything else to my mass; however, when you have a find like that, it is truly something to share.

A few weekends ago, I went to my first garage sale out of the blue and found a lazy boy leather recliner (and swivel) chair for only $40, a very welcome addition to my home.  I also bought I collection of cat books for $3, which I have more than made up for that cost by a sale on Half.com for $5 for just one of those books.  Of course, some space needs still need to be met. lol...   However, a great find is a great find, right???

    • I’m steering clear of them here in London as I’ve just done major declutter and got rid of my warehouse ...
But as I’m now in the final run down to buying in Paris I’m going to hit Clignancourt flea market in Paris - I love that place they have a shop selling antique Chanel etc; loads of Art Deco furniture .....

    • I am pretty well decluttered—-which is why I feel free to buy some crystal—the crystal gets put out, and the pottery and depression glass gets put in the china cabinet for everyone to see!

    • Good job! I have never found any hidden treasures at a garage sale or flea market. Sometimes I do stumble upon a good item to use for candles. I also did major decluttering after my mom died, so i rarely go anymore.

    • Ladies, since we‘re talking garage sale/thrift sale finds, if anyone comes across Iris & Herringbone glassware by Jeanette Glass Co., in clear not irridescent, no chips or cracks, please buy it for me if it’s reasonably priced, and I will pay you by PAYPAL.  This pattern is getting extremely hard to find.  I’ve been collecting it since I was in my early 20s.  Sometimes I can find pieces on Ebay but mostly irridescent which I don’t want.  A million hugs and kisses if anyone can do this for me.  giggle
