I admit, I’m crazy

Yesterday after a 14 hour day I decided to go to bed before midnight for a change.
After tossing and turning I clicked on remote control and stumbled on a movie with Andy

Garcia called Modigliani. The movie was running for an hour when I tuned in, but I still wanted to watch.

I love to paint and lately, working such long hours sometimes six seven days a week I just don't have any motivations, inspiration or even strength.

The movie portrayed starving artists that were trying to make enough money for their paints and canvases in order to pain the next best thing. Even though I tuned in half way through I was still able to catch the passion, the excitement and vision of those incredible artists.

At 1 a.m. the movie finished and I was inspired, my husband wouldn't let me get up to paint knowing that my day begins early, so I pretend to fall a sleep until I heard him snoring peacefully.

I got up and attacked my canvas with such force that even I was surprised. By five a.m. I was finished.

Here is my master piece that I wanted to share with you.

    • Her eyes are not showing so to me she is not naked. Her mouth seems closed but the musical notes say to me her spirit is singing. She could be facing away from the light meaning to me she has a secret. She is very beautiful. I paint when its a wall and a roller and never stop complaining when i do it. you have a beautiful god given gift thank you for sharing

    • This is gorgeous.  I used to paint in my teens, but havent picked up a brush lately.  The female body is such a beautiful subject.  But I thought you were going somewhere about Andy Garcia!!!  My mind is in the gutter, my poor husband is still working the hurricane.  He worked Gustav and now is  working Ike.  Homecoming is always so sweet!!

    • Ladies,

THANK YOU so much for your wonderful comments.

I do have a secret to share with you, I don’t have any TALENT when it comes to painting or drawing.

Nope, really I don’t, and I’m not being modest.

I always wanted to learn and about 13 years ago I took a few informal classes, and just began to paint. This is something ANY ONE of you can learn how to do. All you need to be is persistent and consistent.

I also do not have a fear of ruining my painting, and sometimes I do crazy stuff, my last was a tic tac toe made out of lentils, everyone in my house thought I was nuts, but it was fun and it came out awesome.

Don’t be afraid, buy a canvas and paints, and just go for it. It’s your masterpiece, and no one can tell you that it is “off“, because no one but you knows what you want it to look like.

Let’s start a group and share our paintings, come on....if I can do it, you can do it.

      All the best,
      Yana

Girl...you are a woman of so many talents!!! I am awestruck by this painting....You MUST take time to paint more...fill your cup with this passion for art and painting....then share it with the world!  I want a Yana Berlin masterpiece...one to hang in the lobby of AWE-A Woman of Elegance Headquarters!  First, I have to get a headquarters and a lobby...so you have some time...but not much...so you better get to work!

PS PhotoStumbled your painting...now the whole world outside of Fab40 will see it too! happy

    • Yana,

All I can say is I hope you‘re seriously thinking about submitting this painting somewhere so it can be noticed.  That is absolutely beautiful and the texture is amazing.  Just by looking at it and the way the woman’s head is slightly cut off is a story waiting to be told.

Congratulations - here’s to lack of sleep.

I truly wish I could join your group of painters, but, sadly my stick figure people are pretty weak! LOL!
