Did you ever have a house that was not yours, but you always knew it would always be there if you wanted to go home! My Grandmothers house went up in smoke early Monday mornng. Thank God nobody was home at the time. I grew up in this home, played in the dirt, got into trouble, learned to walk, more trouble, did homework, fought with my sister and uncle, built igloos in the winter. Had family dinners, family fights, deaths, and played many a card games with my Gram at the kitchen table! I even Peeled the wall paper off the wall while being stood in a corner, picked flowers, apples and picked my own switches off the hedges to get spanked with! Learned from Gram that kneadeding dough to make bread was great way to get your aggressions out! Laughed alot, cried alot and always Loved alot in that house! My kids experienced some of the same things, and I hope they remember them and treasure them always......The shed and the apple tree went many years ago and now, the house. Four generations of our family memories were in this old house. God protected this old house for so many years while children were being raised in it. Even after the great flood of 72 it continued to stand... How about the growth charts of us kids that were penciled in on the walls? Gram always loved to keep track of how much her kids, grandkids and great grandkids have grown. I will always treasure the memories his old house had. This is a strong house built of love and memories. I pray that it can be restored and will continue to have more memories for several more generation to come.
