I had gastric bypass surgery on Tues. Nov 9th. I really wasn’t nervous.  They gave me that good stuff on my way down to the operating room.  When I got there I did let them know I was not leaving the hospital in a wide ass wheelchair because I was not that big.  I heard them laugh and then I was gone.

Next thing I know I’m waking up in recovery and my throat is sore but that is it.  I think I was out of surgery around 5:30pm or so.  Got to my room around 7pm.  By midnight I was standing up...and walked one lap around the nurses station.  Got back in the bed...tried to sleep but never slept.  At 4AM I was back up and walked (4) laps around the nurses station by myself.  Got back in the bed and tried to sleep but didn’t.  By 9am...they brought me my water and crushed ice.  I had to drink one ounce of water every 30 minutes...and I did.  I could have unlimited crushed ice.  I then got up....bathed off, got dressed...put my tennis shoes on....fixed my hair...put on my makeup and sat in the chair all day long when I wasn’t up walking.  Got my 30 laps in on Wednesday with no problem.
Wed. night I slept a little better because they ended up taking my IV’s out.  I was not taking anything for pain (hitting my IV pain button) so they took my IV’s.  Thursday I did have a headache most of the day and my neck was sore from when they put the tube down your throat.  I got my 30 laps in by 8am...was dressed and ready to go home by 9am.  They brought me my first 2oz of chicken broth, 2 oz of crystal light drink, small jello cup,....had to get all of that down in 30 minutes and I did it in 15 minutes.  An hour later they brought me my first 4oz of protein drink.  Again...30 minutes to drink it...and I got it down in 15 minutes.  They don’t want you “grazing“.   I did great with all of that.  He released me at 2:00pm.

Last night I slept much better in my bed but I still was up around 3:30am.  I ended up drinking (4oz) of protein and got that down and then had a sugar free popsicle.  When back to bed and got up in time to get ready to go back to my drs office to get the drain tube out.  I feel so much better with that thing out.  Didn’t hurt to remove either.  He wants to see me next Wed. morning.

As he stressed to me this morning.....his main concern is my drinking...constantly...and walking.  Drinking to prevent de-hydration and walking to prevent blood clots.

I’ve had (8oz) of protein today, and working on this bottle of crystal light/water...a jello cup and a few sugar free popsicles.  I’ve walked my mile today and now I’m just hanging out at my house.

I think I will cook my family some dinner now....estatic

    • Mary I am so so proud of you.  Keep the positive attitude and that will help you along the way.  The days when you get that little down feeling just say to yourself “I have added years to my life and nothing will take that away from me“.  You are a lovely person and you will continue to shine and blossom.  Walk into this newness and let your positvie attitude continue to rub others.  Glad you are doing so well.

I slept so good last night and didn’t get up until 8am. I woke up one time to go to the bathroom but went right back to sleep.
I’m drinking my 4 oz of protein this morning and then I’m going to try my hand at some de-caff coffee that I can have w/ splenda in it.

    • Thanks everyone! Still doing good....just a little tired yesterday and today...which is probably due to lack of protein.  I’m working on that.  Still on straight liquids.

I weighed yesterday and according to my scales which are pretty accurate...I’ve lost almost 12 pounds since Tuesday.happy

    • Thanks Vikki....I’m drinking some PINK today and my energy is much much better.  I have this pill I have to take everyday that helps with acid reflux.  I changed the time I take that and my stomach is not churning as much this afternoon.  It gets better every single day.

Wednesday...is a big day for me.  One I go to the doctor for a re-check.  Hopefully he’ll say I’m good to go back to work...maybe next Monday.  Second...I get to eat sugar free pudding and low sugar/carb yogurt!!  Yesss!  LOL...I know that sounds crazy but when you’ve been on strict liquids for almost a week now....those little things mean a lot.

Thanksgiving...I will get to eat potato soup, eggs, grits, oatmeal..etc.  Of course it will be like a couple of tablespoons and that will be it.  tongue out

Right now my stomach is about a half of cup size.....

Pictures...I’m taking some facial shots...really can’t tell anywhere else because my stomach is still swollen from the surgery, but like I said...everyday it all gets better.

    • Well, I finally got back on this site, and I am reading about your surgery!  You are brave, and I am so glad it is working!  Please, look into putting healthy food in your body from now on to get complete nutrition and complete this journey!  When your body gets the nutrition it needs, you do not crave anything, you have a ton of energy, and you glow.  It is amazing how that works!  I did a lot of research and finally decided to try Isagenix.  It has worked for me and a lot of my friends and people I work with.  Message me if you want to find out more.  With or without Isagenix I wish you the best of luck with your new life and attitude!!!!!

    • Thanks Lotsgypsy! I appreciate the offer on the Isagenix but I have a very strict diet plan ahead of me.  I can’t put just anything into my mouth...that is for sure or it will make me deathly sick.  Right now...I’m still on straight liquids and eventually will get to eat real food which has to consist of high protein, no sugar, low carb. Again...thanks for the comments!
