It’s been an interesting couple of days. Hope you don’t mind my sharing what I’ve learned. We have a saying in our house, our learning style is “the hard way“. You’ll see!
I learned today that it doesn’t take much to make people paranoid. Case in point, when one person comes down with the swine flu, it makes the front page. People start to cancel appointments with you.
I learned today that too much caffiene, a light lunch, and bulk mail are a bad combination.
I also learned today that fire alarms can also be caused by water...in smoke detectors.
I learned that being married to the “alarm guy” does not help me remember the instructions to disarm said alarm when it is activated by water in said smoke detector.
I learned that attempting to read the disarm instructions with bifocals while looking at a poster posted 1 foot above eye level does not work well.
Today I also learned that the jitters caused by too much caffiene, coupled with a light lunch, and the stress of dealing with bulk mail, make for very shaky hands in the midst of a fire alarm.
I learned that fire fighters will go back to their truck for masks when they learn they may become exposed to swine flu.
Last, but not least, I learned that one’s cell phone battery will last just long enough to call one’s “alarm guy” husband for instructions to disarm alarm.
Just long enough.
Thank you, God!
Only one person has the swine flu (it’s not me)
The Bulk Mail is counted
The alarm is silenced
There is no fire
The “alarm guy” will be by tonight
The phone is on the charger
The shakes are almost gone
And I’m planning a hearty, healthy dinner to calm my nerves!
xoxo

I learned more than you learned- how can that be?
I learned what I learned from YOU!
Yeah, some days are diamonds, some days...coal?

I know you had a rough time, but you made it read so humorously (like Erma Bombeck). Thanks for sharing!
What’s funny is to see the fire fighters come in all decked out in their fireman gear and little paper masks to protect them from the flu! haha!

Coach maybe you need to go lay down and rest, the trauma was enough for ya. Take a nap cap and go to sleep.

Funny story! How ironic that fire fighters can walk head on into a deadly fire, but they seem to whimper at something like the flu virus! Sometimes we humans can really lose perspective.
I feel for you about the too much caffiene and a light lunch.... I hate the shakes especially when they are NOT MeDonalds Strawberry ones....
I hope you are doing better today...just send me your bulk mail and I will handle.
Enjoy your weekend!!!!
Coach sorry you had a hard day - very humorous story
