“Oh I am so Happy” is what we say when our circumstances dictate that we should be happy. For far too long we have viewed “Happy” as a state of being or a condition based on circumstances. Because of this mindset we are “unhappy” most of the time and this makes for a miserable life.

Happy is not a condition or a state of being but a "choice". A conscious choice.  We have the power, yes POWER (we love that word estatic) to choose to be happy no matter what circumstance we find ourselves in. We can be happy when someone offends, embitters, agitates, irritates, and even ignores us.

Eleanor Roosevelt said “no one makes you feel inferior without your permission“.  LOVE IT!  No one makes us anything without our “consent“.  I hate when I hear someone say “oh they make me so mad“.  I want so bad to scream “no they don’t, you are choosing to be mad, now get over it and be happy“.  It’s a lot easier said then done, ask me how I know ohhhh. I am still trying to get to this point myself!

However, achieving this blissful goal can only come with practice, yay us! As we get opportunities to practice “Happy” we should know the sooner we embrace the decision to be “Happy” the faster we experience “happy“. This is due to the fact that we aren’t spending days, weeks or months trying to get over our circumstances and the people in them.

Remember that song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy“? We might want to pull it out, dust it off and listen to it again just for good measure!
