I truly enjoy movies..I always have. I love them all from Romance to Drama to Horror..And my very favorite is Comedy...I can watch a movie over and over again and again..It's still as scary or funny as the first time I seen it.. What was really Kool when I was growing up...we had a program that came on M-F at 4pm and every week they would either pic and Actor or Actress ..Sometimes it was by movie category..I would rush home from school to watch it..I loved it when they had Elvis week..I always wanted to be one of the girl dancers..Then they would have the ones with Frankie Avalon and Annette Fonachelo..(best I can spell it)One of my favorite actress back then was Natalie Wood..  My 3 favorite movies with her are Splendor In The Grass and Gypsy... * Let Me Entertain You..Let Me Make You Smile...* and This Property Is Condemned..I had a few other Female actresses ummm..Betty Davis, Rita Hayworth, Ann Margret..Sophie Lorain. Such amazing women.. Now as for the Males..eh..I didn't care so much for the early ones..It's funny no matter how old I got they always looked like old me to me..LOL..As for the ones now..I guess it would be.. Harrison Ford..Steven Segal..I have to really sit and think about it..Ehh..I don't know..LOL. So anyway tell me who you liked..or still like..

If it is one, it is The Godfather series. It is a joke around here with my kids  and their friends. Ms. Darla thinks it is a requirement to have seen the Godfather. If they have not, well... they know what they will be watching at our house.

“I’m gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse“. Love it!!!

    • kataramoon,

Life is Beautiful is an Italian movie staring Roberto Benigni.  It takes place during world war II, and tells the story of a guy and his 5 year old son in a concentration camp.  The father, who is a comedian, pretends that everything they are going through is kind of a survival game.

Before I saw this movie, I would never have believed that there could be a movie about the holocaust which in parts will make me laugh. But it did, although not half as much as it made me cry.  It’s definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen.

    • Well this is a subject near and dear to my heart!

If you’ll notice on the Fab40 home page, 2 blocks down from the recently uploaded photos, I now have a movie review column! Every Friday I’ll be doing 5 mini-reviews and will have a related article or two throughout the week!

I always have such a hard time coming up with my favorites, because I love them all, but off the top of my head:

      Bridget Jones’s Diary
      Raising Arizona
      Superbad
      Rebecca
      Forrest Gump
      Jerry Maguire
Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix
      It’s A Wonderful Life
      Phenomenon
      Powder
      Steel Magnolias

And that’s just for starters!! ;)

Jude Law & Jack Black.  It is a “chick flick” with romance, lots of laughs and the perfect ending!

Movie trailer editor, Amanda of Los Angeles, CA and journalist Iris of Surrey, England live five thousand miles apart and have never met, but are dealing with the same problem: men. Amanda having just broken up with her cheating boyfriend, Ethan and Iris having pined for her ex, Jasper, becoming engaged to the woman he left her for decide to take a vacation during Christmas. They come upon a website called home exchange and swap houses for two weeks both with a goal to forget their troubled love lives. But love ends up finding them anyways. Amanda starts a romance with Iris’ older brother, Graham, a book editor and Iris starts a romance with a movie composer named Miles. With new found romance, both their lives change forever.

      Spinal Tap
      Coal Miner’s Daughter
      Raising Arizona
      Sixteen Candles
      When Harry Met Sally

Love Mel Brooks-Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part I, High Anxiety

Heather, I hated with a capital H-A-T-E-D Superbad, and I am usually a big fan of immature, crude humor.

And get your stones ready--I do not like It's a Wonderful Life. Makes my teeth ache!

      Promise not to laugh???

      Greese

Maybe because it represents my childhood,
maybe because it connects me to all the great times I had during that period.
Maybe it’s because my best friend and I saw it 31 times and decided that it will always be the best movie for us.

Last week I saw the end of it on cable, and I don’t know what it is but I felt so light and happy afterwards, I called my best friend to talk about it AGAIN....

Maybe because I was raised to believe that only movies with bad endings, hard circumstances and tough life decisions are good movies worth seeing. So every time I leave the movie theater I’m stressed out but feel I got “value“, Greese is just the opposite.

Also, anything with Johnny Depp in it :)
Pirates, Willy Wonka, Edward Scissorhand, The Libertine (a very dark movie, but well acted), Secret Window, Sleepy Hollow, and the list goes on - he is such a rounded actor.
