When is the right time to tell someone you are dating that you have a serious illness? There has beeen many answers to my question. I have been told that the other person should know right away. He should have the right to make the decision if he wants to date someone with an illness. Others have said that you should find a right time and place to share something so personal. I have yet to figure out the right time. As of now, he knows nothing about the illness. The relationship is a long distance relationship that has only gone on for about 4 months, so at this time the relationship is more emotional than physical. Emotions seem to go a long way. We have both confessed our deep feeling for one another, but still I have held back on this vital piece of information, and I am starting to feel a bit guilty, I am also beginning to feel a bit afraid. Afraid of what his reaction may be when I finally do tell him. I don’t feel like I want to express this over the phone, by text, or email, I feel that I need to do this in person. My question still remains, when is the right time to tell someone you are dating that you have a serious illness?
