Here is the dream I woke from:

I am arriving at an estate of some kind.  It is situated on a bluff next to an ocean, and it lies on a hillside.  I am dropped off in a parking lot.  I know that there are people attending a party of some kind, but the lighting is almost imperceptible.  It is the very end of twilight time when there is enough light to sort of see the outlines of everything, but no details.

I begin to climb a set of stone stairs leading up.  They are old stone, covered in moss.  I take the first flight, and, turning to the right I ascend the second.  I look down and notice I am wearing a dress made of what appears to be liquid silver.  I reach the top of the stairs, turn left and ascend the third set.  As I do, I hear a low voice (not necessarily male) say in my mind, “We‘re almost there...” I think back, “Where are we?” but receive no answer.

When I reach the top of the third flight I am at an area where people are having the party.  Again, no real lighting but dark twilight.  I can tell that the party is not a lively one...everyone seems to be languid, filled more with ennui.  I look upward to the top of the hill and notice a large mansion overlooking the ocean.  I know that is where I will eventually go, but for now, I need to stay here.

There are several pools spread out all around.  Small, like hot tubs.  People are in them, just floating.  All conversations are hushed and somewhat secretive.  I walk past a group sitting in deck chairs. I walk to one of the pools.  It is empty, the water lit from a source I can’t identify, it’s color is a deep, Parrish blue.

I simply begin to go down the steps into the pool.  They are stone, not cement.  I am able to breath as I go down, down.  I do not seem to be getting wet.  I’m confused about what I am supposed to do in the pool, but continue to go down.  When I reach the bottom, I begin to hear music start up.  I seem to recognize the notes, though they seem faint and as if they are being filtered underwater.  They get louder and I realize I do know the song...and I begin to sing it.  As I am singing I look up and see lotus flowers floating above on the water’s surface.  I know it is time to leave the pool.

I begin to ascend the stairs, my singing and the music growing very loud as I sing the chorus.  As my head breaks the surface of the water the song is extremely loud and powerful and I woke with it ringing in my ears.

The song was, “Halleluja” by Leonard Cohen.

I am thinking that there is a message for my day in this.  And, I will pass it along that it may bless and inspire whomever it may.

[note: There are so many beautiful versions of this song, but when sung by kd lang it leaves me breathless.  This particular version, with the orchestra, quite brings me to tears.]
