We all hear things on the news that horrify us. For some of us, it’s pretty easy to shrug and say, but that’s in the big city, or that’s far away.
I live in a pretty calm, sane corner of the world, it’s easy for me to ignore a lot of this world’s craziness.
Today it hit too close to home.
One of my dearest friends called me this morning to tell me she’s going to her son’s (he lives in the city) for a few days to give him some moral support because....... her daughter-in-law’s sister was just murdered by her estranged husband who then killed himself. In front of their children.
I’ve met these people on a couple different occassions, sat at table with them. Seemed like nice folks. The children are darling.
What can make a man so messed up in the head that he would do such a thing? I don’t understand.
I am praying for my friend’s son and daughter-in-law because I know they will be going thru a terrible time and will have a lot of those “if only we had.....” thoughts.
I will be hoping for the best possible outcome for all involved.
Your friend’s family is in my prayers. I too had a girlfriend who was killed by her husband before he took his own life in front of his son. It isn’t easy to comprehend.
senseless and tragic. There is nothing in this world that is so bad as to take the life of someone just for the sake of.

Hits close to home for me too. I worked in a law office a few years ago and one of our clients went off and did the unthinkable, drove to his soon to be ex wife’s and klled his three kids before killing himself in the driveway, we felt it coming, tried to loose the case, warn the judge but the judge awarded visitation, , our hands were tied...it still haunts the attorney and me, the attorney represented him, and he was unstable, we knew it and we did everything to warn opposing counsel and the judge....doubtful that if visitation had been denied he would have found a way to do this....sad, my thoughts are with you, this is going to be a difficult time for a long time.
