How many of you have grown kids who are not budging off the couch or computer, while they wait for dinner that you stuggle to pay for, and pile their laundry by the washer until you have no choice but to do it?

My sons are 19 and 21 and I have done just about everything for them since they were born.  I divorced their Dad when they were 12 and 14 and have been a single mom since then, with a great boyfriend that helped quite a bit.  But because of the guilt I felt, I gave them everything I could.  And did everything for them.  What a mistake that was!

Now that they are grown young men, they are afraid to get out there and make a life for themselves.  Now don’t get me wrong, I taught them everything they need to know to get there: how to cook, sew, do laundry, shop for the best deals, pay their bills, change their oil and basic car maintenance etc.  But they seem to be overwhelmed, so they just stay.  And they won’t pay rent or help with the bills, since they claim that they don’t make enough.

Well I finally decided, that if they won’t leave the nest, then I will have I’m selling everything, or giving it away and moving to Maui by MYSELF!  I leave in 10 days and now they are looking for a place to live etc.  I am confident that I made the right choice.

So if you are having a problem getting the kids to leave, just pack up and go, and explain that you have to leave because of your job, and that you’ll be renting a room and that there is no room for them.  It will be the best thing that you can do for yourself and your grown kids.  I will post again to let you know how they fared without me!
