I’ve written a Danish blog for more than two years now, and I started without really knowing what it entailed. It just sounded fun - and also a little weird. For why on earth should one write private things in an open forum?

Initially it was my idea to bring some of the articles, I had written - about health, nature, Denmark and England. But the blog evolved, like such things often do, and today it is almost a kind of diary.

Here I write thoughts and ideas, happy experiences and crazy whims. Here I share childhood memories and photographs and everything that is probably not always interesting to others.

But blogging also "forces" me to think. To use my brain. To formulate impressions and record them. To photograph or draw or whatever. To show and share knitting's and cakes and other things I've made.

In short: A blog “forces” one to be creative. For me that is a very good reason to get a blog ... happy

    • This is a great question, and I’m sure you’d get a different answer from every blogger you ask.  I blog because, although it’s taken over 40 years for me to feel this way, I finally realize that I have something valuable to say.  Of course I realize that not everyone will be interested, and I’m o.k. with that.  I’d like to reach out to those who are going through, or have been through similar life experiences.  This way we can learn from each other, and support each other through our life journey.

Anxious to hear responses from other bloggers.

    • I’ve always enjoyed expressing myself! Blogging is the perfect forum for it. A peek into someone else’s life can bring laughter, encouragement, a comtemplative mood, understanding of self/others, humanizes one to others(after all, we are in cyberspace), ideas and most of all a sense of community!

Blogging will help me at some point in time to complete 2 short stories I began writing a few years ago.

    • @Trishski: Yes, I am sure you‘re right. There must be a thousand different reasons. I feel, like you, that I have something to say now, that’s actually worth listening to, and that is a wonderful feeling. Blogging for me is writing for fun - even if my “professional” writing is fun too... happy

@Butterflyrose: Yes, that’s another aspect of blogging. You can bring happiness and support to others, and you can be part of a community. happy

    • I have a blog... But I don’t update daily. For emit is just a place to share my thoughts on whatever. Really not meant for any purpose other than my own randomness.

There are blogs that I enjoy reading daily.... Beauty, cooking, fashion.

    • @Vikki: A blog doesn’t have to have a purpose. Maybe it’s just for fun and for ones own pleasure... happy
