I am a forty-six (46) year old single parent who makes her living as a massage therapist in Austin, Texas.  I love this town.  I want to be healthy and I want to feel good and energetic after eating.  Fortunately, I believe I am healthy, but I never feel good after I eat.

Perhaps one of the reasons below is the reason I don't feel good after I eat:
o I eat too fast
o I eat too much
o I eat a lot of white flour products.
o I eat a lot of white carbohydrates.
o I eat a lot of junk food.
o I eat even if I am not hungry.
o I eat because the clock says it is time to eat.
o I eat because I believe if I don't eat I will feel bad (i.e.: headache, nausea, low energy)
o   When I want to feel better emotionally, I eat pancakes!

Raw food will allow me to focus on nourishing myself rather than feeding my reasons listed above.

This blog will cover all of me.  Don't be surprised though, it will be real.  I understand that I may go though some really bad days and some really great days.  Hopefully, I'll see more really great days.

Of course, every time I begin to focus on something, I go buy a book.  I have tons of books.  Some of my books have been known to go to the Half Price Book store having only been read as far as the first chapter.  Lately, I have been loaning out my books instead of selling them.  I like this effect better.  So, the two books I bought about raw food are (I’ll list them tomorrow). I hope these books will provide some enjoyable, yet knowledgeable reading.  I'll clue you in on everything I learn, if I can remember.

I suppose I'll start losing some inches or weight fairly quickly.  This is not my goal, but it will be a fabulous side effect to the raw nutritional intake.  My goal here is to be a healthier human so that I can continue to affect those whom I come in contact with on a daily basis.

Okay, so now you kind of know my reasoning here and I'll be back tomorrow to let you in on how it is going.   Today is day three (3).

    • Raw food is very popular where I live. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies cut up raw in salads but I’ve seen classes at our local health food store on the subject of raw food preparation. If you google “raw food recipes” the list is endless.

    • Eating raw is very healthy, and I am sure that you will see benefits. I know that cutting out white flour, carbs and processed sugars made a huge difference for me. I also avoid red meat with the exception of venison. Now if I have any of the above mentioned things I definitely ‘feel’ it. I am not sure I am ready to go completely raw. For me, I have had to take baby steps. Of course I’d have a mutiny on my hands if I didn’t. As Americans, we eat very healthy. Even still, it is a far cry from the nutrient rich diets of self-sustainable cultures.. even from the diets of my grandparents.
Good for you! I look forward to reading about your journey!
