Here is the news in Middletown NY two days ago a women in a Jeep left her child in the car who was sleeping in the back seat. Went into a deli to use the ATM. You guessed it someone stole the Jeep, and they found it 20 minutes later about 5 miles from the deli and the child thank God was fine.
Here is the thing this women is a NYPD wife that knows better I know it is so easy to run into the store quick then to wake your son up for what would be only 3 minutes but this could have been a whole different ending.

We all read the news and know what could happen. My heart goes out to the women and here family.

What are your thought on this. I am sure it has happend to all of us at some point but in today’s world would you take the chance, because we are so busy doing what.

I don’t want to pass judement on this women I am sure she will take a lifetime thinking of what she was thinking.

    • We had this recently in Webster, Texas.  A woman exemployee of mine, was going to college, her mother had her son to drop off at day care.  He fell asleep and her mother forgot about him and he died after near 89 degree temperatures all day in the hot car.  The grandmother went out to go home that evening and found her Grandson.  She was not criminallly charged and her daughter has forgiven her, Its infuriating that someone can forget thier child is in a car, at the same time you have people that leave a child in a car alone for a few moments and bad things happen.. Your car is not your home and is not a baby sitter.

One of the problems pointed out is the car seats are now in the back seat and out of sight out of mind if the child is quiet or asleep. Used to the car seats were next to his mom or dad backwards and locked it.  No longer though.

A horrific and devestating event.. to lose a child or have something horrible happen, with this type of negligence.

    • Hello Greeneyelady,

Love the name make me want to sing.

How sad is that and this grandmother will spend a lifetime thinking of what happend. It’s funny why do some people think that this could never happen to me. Lucky for this women it turned out ok but like your women we have another dead child.

I love Texas, its one of the few states the when a New Yorker goes their they never return. I have several friends that moved to Texas and they never come back. Judging by the laws in Texas I could understand why.
