Yoga Getting Started Info

According to OSHO, the greatest individual to contribute to the concept of yoga, and having a scientific approach to thinking about yoga was Patanjali; considered to be the founder of the ancient technique of yoga. Yoga is consider a science, because, unlike other concepts such as religion there is no belief attached to it, if you do yoga you will see results; this is the most subtle info provided by OSHO. From my experience that should be the mind set when practicing yoga. Yoga comprises of numerous aspects  to practice correctly: OSHO’s interpretation of Patanjali is one has to feel hopelessness, discipline and cessation of mind. Firstly, the one practicing yoga must become hopeless,  this is the most difficult concept to understand even beyond hopeless will prepare you in the path of yoga, which is quite difficult most will agree; because, as a humans we are always hoping for the better future, or hoping to get away from the past. If one can get past this difficulty one has moved toward the path of yoga.  So what are some things one can do to move toward yoga. Typically, one must sit in a still position for hours, but, for beginners starting to sit still for even 15 minutes can be a great accomplishment. Simply by sitting still we can practice our body to have greater capacity, and the next time we can improve our capacity to 30 minutes and so on. Now its time to start to prepare our mind for yoga (cessation of the mind). While sitting in a still position, one must let their thoughts flow like the river, and its important to be disconnected by your thoughts, if one continue to do this there will be a time when our mind will be clear of all thought, so we can move towards the path of yoga. This will take hours of time, may be years, but moving toward the path  of yoga is better than not trying. Every one will find their own path, if we practice. Hope this info on yoga was helpful. Next post will provide expanded info on the concept of ‘hopefulness’ involved with yoga.

So Practice yoga everyday!

Best of luck!—Nagi
