You are cordially invited to join me at my new group here at Fabulously 40 & Beyond called CyberHotFlash.

All women of any age are welcome to join.

This is not your normal warm and fuzzy, pump you up with positive mumbo-jumbo...“You go, girl!” rhetoric group...though indeed we will definitely have these “cyberhotflash” moments also...this is a group that will embrace all those moments in our lives when we have “Out of the blue, straight to the point, tell-it-like-it-is, no holds barred, break a sweat, warm & fuzzy or rants & riffs on MLC...the MidLife Crazies...and other things that are rubbing us the wrong way...some times the right way” moments....a “Cyber Hot Flash“! You know what I mean...

woman

We will be embracing the “hot flash” and the mental/emotional, physical and verbal side effects of entering in to or being in this time of our lives in the written word.

One of the many reasons women fall in to depression during mid-life is because they suppress their emotions and opinions...we bury them...stuff them away until they surface with an explosion in the midst of a Mid Life Crisis (MLC).  Don’t do this...come here and vent, ask a question, receive support and encouragement...find agreement/affirmation. You are NOT alone!

IMPORTANT NOTE: This group has not been created to attack, trash or hurt others feelings or harm anyone in any way.  If this is your intent, please do not join us.  This is a group for commentary, suggestions, discussion or review of topics that you just feel the need to express your opinion on, ask questions and receive feedback. No cyber-drama, please!

See you in the group!

    • I’m telling ya - when you‘re having a hot flahs ranting is good for the body and the soul - provided you channel it properly!

I started my rant blog [Link Removed] just for that purpose - AND I end each post with a positive note to make sure I keep it all in perspective!

    • I try to do the same thing at my blog...if not a positive note...at least leave the people smiling or thinking about what you said.

    • I’ve now been “period” free for about 14 months.  Hot flashes come and go. You know what I hate though-I used to be considered the most organized, detail orientated and go to person if you needed to be reminded of anything.  Since menopause-I swear my brain is more like a sieve.  Plus, I don’t think I’ve slept in years (okay, part of that is my hubby’s snoring).  And I hate the 8 pounds I just do not seem to be able to get rid of!

    • Yana, for a while I did have the heart thing-w/o the alcohol-turned out it’s part of my rather unique thyroid problem.
always good to get it checked!

    • Yes, I agree you should have this checked out. I had the same problem with heart palpitations when I was in perio-menopause.  They have now been replaced with the “hot flash“...I believe it’s all due to the rise and fall of hormones in your system.  Whether we like it or not starting in our 40’s our body starts making the change...what used to not bother us at all...all of sudden will turn us on our head...throw us in to bed or just make us feel out of whack.  It is amazing to me how I had to become so aware of what I eat...how much sleep I get or how much sun or excercise I must get now that I am in my 50’s and in menopause.  It is all a delicate balance and God’s way of making us tune in and not tune out.  It is also His way of making us think about ourselves again...we are forced to take care and put ourselves first for once.

When it comes to having a drink...my tolerance has become very low in the past ten years...it seems that with every baby that I had the lower my tolerance got.  In college I could drink with the best of them...now I would be lucky to get through one drink without getting a bit tipsy.  Needless to say, I don’t drink very much anymore...the hangover after only three drinks is not worth it.
