“Mother Nature has a mind of her own. And although we've had experience with Her and think we know what we can expect, sometimes, without warning, we may be bombarded with a blizzard, gusting winds, a tropical rain storm or a heat wave. As we gaze upon what is around us and wonder where it all came from, we know we must respect Her and be prepared for anything.

This is not unlike the people we experience in our day-to-day lives. Even though we think we know what they will do or say next, sometimes they surprise us. They might do something that we think this is out of character for them or we may feel that the "storm" they thrust upon us was undeserved and unnecessary; but just like Mother Nature, they have something different in mind. This is when it useful to take a time out, a water break or a snow day to handle the unexpected. Getting upset or lashing out usually doesn't change anything, but accepting what is in front of you and handling it with grace is the mark of a true friend, a loving spouse or an understanding mother.

The next time an unexpected storm is thrust upon you, take a deep breath in and blow out any negativity you are feeling. You will find that the atmosphere immediately surrounding you takes on a new look and soon the winds of change will blow in a fresh new perspective. Now, that's Powerful!” ~ Sue Urda
