Hi,Fabulous women!
I run a training and coaching company in UK called changingpeople (www.changingpeople.co.uk)and I do a lot of personal development work with women.I love it and am passionate about people living life to its fullest, whatever their age or circumstances.
I also run courses aimed specifically at those over 50 which has had some amazing results. The words ‘It’s because I am getting older’ are totally banned! Just think how many times a day we make ageist comments, it’s the last acceptable form of discrimination I find.Ban it from your household and see how much younger you feel. I like to think of myself as getting wiser!
I am married (30+ years) to a firefighter with two grown up kids, one an actor! And I do adore Elvis Presley...and The Killers! Although my husband has never quite forgiven EP for dying during our honeymoon. Happily it didn't affect our marriage and I am lucky to have met my soul mate so early on in life. (Generally I believe we make our own luck, as you can see from my site, but meeting him was a random act of chance for which I am ever grateful).
I wish everyone the joy of a good relationship!

Hi Jane...I make a special salad for myself when I don’t have to cook for the men...Here goes..
Mixture of Green Leaf, Red Leaf and Bibb lettuces (2 leaves each)
2 slices mozzarella cheese or feta cheese (cubed)
1/2 cup sliced artichoke hearts
1-2 tsp. capers
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
1 small handful garlic croutons
I make a dressing of extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar and a clove of garlic minced with a dash of salt and pepper..I usually just eyeball the ingredients and taste test it.
Mary
Hallo! Nice to hear from you. My favourite recipe is a veggie one.
Take a pack of filo pastry Unwrap and layer each sheet with light olive oil or butter.
Cook some carrots and puree with herbs.
Cook some very fresh peas, frozen is OK.
Fry some mild onion rings
Now layer the pastry with a thick spread of soft garlic cheese, covered with carrot, onions and peas.
Roll up lenghtways like a swiss (jelly) roll. (Use a damp tea towel to roll out filo on and simply roll it in this)
Paste top with melted butter or oil and scatter with pine nuts.
Bake in a hot oven about 35 minutes. Serve with a veg sauce, like peas, mint and yoghurt or tomato.
Hugely fattening but gorgeous! Also freezes well before cooking. Cook from frozen but add another ten minutes or so.
Your turn!!
Jane

Have a great week!
Hi,
thank you for adding me!
I hope to get to know you better!
Have a great week!
Love your profile and comments on chocolatier’s blog. Nice to see smart women voicing their opinions...and yours are smart and FUNNY too...
Thank you. I do tend to smile a lot, all those teeth....
Can I just ask, who is Alexandra?
Best wishes to you.
Jane
I love to read, almost anything but for some reason never finished Lord of the Rings!
I have to read every night before I fall asleep! .
I also love the theatre and film.
Birdsong by Sebastian Faulkes was a brilliant book and I used to love anything by Mary Wesley. She didn’t start writing until she was in her 60s and beyond I believe. And of course, being based in Bath, Jane Austen, so clever and witty and wicked!
I love to knit but it’s mainly a winter activity for me, curled up on the sofa with something good (Agatha Christie) on TV!
I also love live theatre and recently did a marathon Shakespeare event in Stratford with my actor son. Four days of all the History plays! Plus, last summer, the amazing Edinburgh Festival with my daughter. Three weeks of drama of all sorts (very good, indifferent and frankly awful!) every day!
I love to garden and favour the slightly unplanned cottage garden look (I try to pretend that unplanned is a deliberate style....)
And I enjoy cooking but have got very experimental as I grow older. More confident I guess and less worried about making mistakes. I get a real buzz when creating a meal out of ‘nothing’ or from odds and ends of left overs!
Plus, I am fortunate enough to say that my work is also my passion and I love what I do for a living! That didn’t happen by accident and it took a while to get there but I have never been happier in my working life. I do a lot of reading and developing of myself around that.
