    The Doctors gathered more than 15,000 years of collective wisdom from happily and successfully married couples in the USAUnited States ? people of different faiths, ages and ethnicities, including Caucasians, African- Americans, Latinos, and Asian-Americans married in the Judeo-Christian tradition.   In addition, they interviewed successfully married couples in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Philippines and The Netherlands.   After 26 years and hundreds of interviews with successfully married couples, as well as their own successful 42 years of marriage, they discovered seven pervasive characteristics present in all successful marriages.
