I am a 51 year female who just started her own business. After living in Southern, Ca. all my life I moved with my husband to Charlotte, NC. It was hard to leave family and friends but we made the move and it gave me the opportuntity to start the business. This is huge for me and my husband is so understanding but I still feel like I jumped out of a plane hoping the parachute opens :)
Hi, Yes branding is so important when getting your name out into the public.
Try Shiqmamma.com also, this is a dear friend of mine who was a swimwear designer for 20 years who started a website and she does promotoe.

Dori - Hi! I live in the Charlotte area, too - Mount Pleasant (outside of Concord). I do miss California, but my family is closer to me now, so that is good.
I didn’t ever advertise my website on the internet, and it has not been successful. I am pretty much giving up on the jewelry as a business and focusing on other things. I enjoy it, but it just doesn’t sell except to people I know - too many people make jewelry. I have a website with SBI (Site Build It) and that one will do much better I am sure. They help you every step of the way and tell you how to choose the right keywords for maximum traffic, etc. This website is not jewelry related, it is about frugal living.
Are you on Facebook? I use that more than this site these days. If you are, add me as a friend - my name is Holly Carter Beck.
