I am a person who wants to make 40 and beyond the best part of my life.
As a mother of 4 ranging in age from 7 - 22, life can be very hectic. On top of that, I own a small grocery store with my husband, so life is usually very full. I enjoy giving back to the community and find myself overly involved at times. As I go forward, I am trying to learn how to focus on the things I enjoy the most and put my efforts in that direction. Life is meant to be enjoyed, not overscheduled.
4 years ago, I began losing weight (kept telling myself it was from the kids) and had lost 42 lbs. I felt great! Since then I was involved in a bad car accident and eventually the weight came back. Fully recovered from the accident, but now I want to refocus on getting the weight back off. I told myself that I had to pull through that accident so that I could continue to raise my family. I did just that. Now it seems silly that being overweight is compromising the life I fought for that day.
I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to live in Denmark and travel through various countries in Europe. Two of my favorite trips taken in the last few years include a trip to London with my oldest daughter, and a trip to Rome with my second daughter. Of course, we have also done alot of traveling through the U.S.
It is interesting that you find yourself at the age of 42 starting over with making friends, except for a few life long friends. Here’s to finding new friendships that will last another 50+ years!
