I am a newly-divorced mother of four delightful children, all mostly grown. The last went off to college last September, so I am newly free to devote myself to, well, myself.

    • Favorite Activities

      I try to stay active athletically, although it is challenging during a Chicago winter. In warmer weather, I compete in triathlons and road races.

      I never turn down an invitation to the theater, the opera or the symphony, and my kitchen sparkles because I dine out so often.

    • Favorite Books

      I’ve gotten away from reading fiction and now focus on history and biography. I’m currently reading a history of the Russian revolution.

    • Favorite Music

      Thanks to my kids and XM radio, I have a very broad range of musical interests.

    • Interests

      As soon as I became an almost empty-nester, I got active socially and, though it sounds like bragging, I generally have dates three or four nights a week. Thanks to Match.com and Jdate, I have collected a following of 30-sometning men who find an older woman attractive. Pretty good for a somewhat-battered ego, I must say. I doubt that I’ll want anything long-term with any of them, but it’s a highly pleasurable way of getting lots of exercise if you know what I mean.
