I just hit my 50s, inspired by some of my newly 50 friends to approach it with gusto and a positive spirit. My day job is a graphic artist at The Washington Post, and hoping to hang on in a changing industry for a few more years. I’ve been married for 24 years but no children. I borrow some of my 7 nieces and nephews when I want a kid fix. Hehe. After several years of depressions, preceded by many years of no confidence and self loathing, I hit a midlife crisis in 2007 and managed to resurface with a much more positive attitude, new eating and exercise habits and an acceptance of my flaws and good qualities that are helping to renew my spirit and attitude. And my marriage, which I’ve discovered is very solid, and very fun. And I’m looking for ways to continue to grow and improve.
