  • About me

I will be married 20 years on May 20th.  I have an 12 year old son.  They are both the love of my life.

2002 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I had a lumpectomy on my right breast.  Then I did 4 treatments of chemotherapy.  On  my 40th Birthday I started my first radiation treatment with 34 more to go.  I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and have a bad thyroid.  All this and I am only 46.  Almost 2 years ago I decided to put myself first.  So far I have lost 53 pounds and still have 66 more to go.  This time I know I am going to get the weight off so I can stop taking all the meds I am on.

My strength comes from my husband, son and family.  Especially my mother.  When she was 50 she had her first heart attack and was diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic.  Unfortunately for her she did not listen to the doctors.  In 2004 my mother had kidney failure and does dialysis 3 times a week.  She is almost blind.  I feel so bad for her as she is only 65 years old.  I see what she is going through and I tell myself everyday I will not do that to myself or my family.

I just take one day at a time, and Thank God that I can wake up every morning to a new day.
